College of Education Curriculum Committee

Minutes for Wednesday, February 25, 2009, A115, 12noon

Present:  Jan Frank (TDEV), Karen Thompson (HURL), Avelino Mills-Novoa (ELCP), Christine Imbra (CEEP), Kathy Johnson (SPED), Luther Rotto (CIM), Ming-Chi Owen (CFS), Terri Sheehan (HPERSS); Guest:  Marcia Thompson (CIM)

1.                  Approve minutes for February 11, 2009

Not an issue—clarification was made that at least  four signed minutes need to be received and then a majority of those need to indicate approval for minutes to be approved.  This happened in that five signed minutes were received and four indicated approval as of 2/16/09.

2.                  Approve agenda for February 25, 2009

 

Johnson/Rotto – motion passed

 

3.                  Revisit tabled ELCP Program Change with Course Proposals

Request from Frances Kayona received via email that porposals are not yet ready to be revisited.

4.                  membership on the CoE Curriculum Committee and representation to UCC -- discussion based on email from Sheehan forwarded to committee on Tuesday, February 17

lengthy discussion resulted in decision to ask UCC to send out a campus-wide call for interest in college (from all colleges)  reps for UCC for 2009-2010 (possible 3 year term), noting that college level committees may be voting on reps yet this spring.  Additional note should be made that the Constitution Review Committee has yet to provide requested feedback on term and other questions related to UCC/CCC.

5.                  IM 682 – drop course/new course proposal

Imbra/Rotto – motion passed to accept proposals. They will be forwarded as soon as the Dean’s signature is secured.

6.                  Additional item – revisit EDAD Community Ed Licensure Program Change Proposal

Discussion resulted in request to be made that Kay Worner attend next meeting with copies of other documents connected to this program change proposal.
