        Motion to approve Executive Committee Minutes of October 2, 2001 (Peterson/Ore) passed

Motion to request that the Administration refund the Faculty Association’s money to pay for the facilitator for the Meet and Confer Retreat (Heine/Nook) passed

 

Motion to provide President Saigo with an invitation and opportunity to explain his views on the proper role and relationship for the Administration and Faculty interaction to the Senate (Roth/Aiken) referred

 

Motion to refer the previous motion to the Executive Committee and have them bring back language for consideration in Senate (Hornstein/Palmer) passed

 

Motion to close debate (Palmer/Foster) passed

 

e.                    IFO Budget Allocation

Motion to put together a proposal for the IFO board to increase the office support for the Faculty Association (Kalia/Peterson) passed

Motion that the Faculty Association President ask the Administration for the latest list of reassigned times, extra duty days, overload, and chair reassigned time given to individual faculty and to departments as a whole and share that with the Faculty Senate as soon as possible (Kalia/Palmer) passed

a.                    COE Vote of Confidence/No Confidence

1.                    Unilateral personnel decisions/individual hiring

2.                    Not following contractual due process for discipline

3.                    Refusal to meet with Faculty in sanctioned meetings regarding contract violations

4.                    Interfering with and preventing department governance

5.                    Acting in a way the FA views as arbitrary and capricious, inconsistent COE administration.

Motion to bring a Faculty Association grievance against the Dean of the College of Education (Larkin/Schoenberger) passed
