b. Update on FA grievances
Motion that following distribution of a letter to the COE faculty explaining the basis of FA grievances and concerns and within 10 days of a college-wide meeting scheduled with the IFO Labor Relations and IFO Equity advocate, a vote of confidence/no confidence will be conducted among voting members of the Faculty Association in the College of Education. In the event that a satisfactory resolution to these concerns is reached prior to the vote, the election shall be cancelled. (Hornstein/Present) postponed
Motion to postpone consideration of the previous motion until the next Senate meeting to provide an opportunity to consult with constituents (Foster/Schoenberger) passed 26/23/4
Motion to approve a Faculty Association grievance regarding the Dean of the College of Social Sciences, specifically in the History Department (Lavenda/Kilborn) passed
Motion to close debate (Larkin/Schoenberger) passed
c. Technical College Curriculum Review
Motion that departments identified by MnSCU select one nominee and one alternate faculty, who are full members of the IFO, within their own department to participate in the November 16, 2001 meeting regarding the transfer of courses. (Kilborn/Schoenberger) passed
Motion to close debate (Condon/Roth) passed
Motion that if the Faculty Association is able to reach an agreement with MnSCU that all departments represented in the Minnesota Transfer Curriculum should select their representatives. (Foster/McKenna) passed
e. AFSCME/MAPE strike fund and party
Motion that we contribute $250 to the AFSCME strike fund and $250 to the MAPE strike fund. (Schoenberger/Gill) passed
Motion to hold an AFSME/MAPE post-strike party (Roth/Present) passed
Motion to extend the meeting to allow discussion and action on 8.a. and 8.c. (Palmer/Condon) passed

Motion to ask for two faculty on the Legal Counsel Search Committee so we have a backup member and an equal amount of representation to administration (Foster/ Kilborn) passed
Motion that Faculty Association have 60 percent representation on the Institutional Research committee (Kilborn/Schoenberger) passed
Motion to select six faculty representatives, one from each unit, for the Special Assistant-Investigator search committee (Larkin/Schoenberger) passed
