Motion to approve Item #1 granting the committee the right to invite the Dean to any and all meetings for this coming year (Kilborn/Palmer) postponed

d. Chair’s Meetings
Motion that President Fisher and the Director of Labor Relations in the IFO have a meeting with all department chairs, at which time discussion would occur regarding the Chairs’ roles nder the contract (Palmer/Lavenda) passed

e. Police and uniformed officials in classrooms
Motion that classes at SCSU should not be interrupted by police, safety or security officials except in case of emergency, which includes danger to students or faculty in the classroom, notification of death or near death of a spouse, a parent, or a child, and which requires the student’s immediate attention, and in no other cases. When students need to be informed of an emergency, Public Safety should telephone the department secretary to deliver the message; uniformed officials should not deliver such messages. Uniformed officials should not enter classrooms during classes to deliver any other messages, to serve warrants, and the like. Students or others suspected of violent crimes may be arrested as they leave the classroom. (Larkin/Karasik) passed
