a.       MHSC
Motion that Whereas the FA and the administration have negotiated an agreement that positions will be assigned in the MHSC (or its successor) according to seniority unless it can be established that a senior person lacks qualification (as explained in the listserv message from President Saigo and Theresia Fisher of May 9, 2002),
and whereas at the meeting of June 7, 2002, it was established that expertise would be defined in terms of the tasks and responsibilities detailed in the service contracts provided by the administration,
and whereas documentation of the senior faculty members expertise and qualifications is available (1) in their memoranda of June 10 (Jerrill Anderson) and June 11 (Cheri Sundin) and (2) in their Evaluation (EPT) files over the years,
Therefore, the Executive Committee expects to the Provost to appoint Cheri Sundin and Jerrill Anderson to the positions based on seniority and qualifications.  (Fisher/all) passed unanimously

Motion that the Executive Committee requests that the Provost issue letters to faculty in MHSC offering them the opportunity of the severance pay package ($2500 per person + $500 per year of service) with the understanding that faculty have until 12/31/02 to make their decision per the agreement reached with Ruth Meyer on June 7, 2002 (Fisher/Peterson) passed
