The meeting was called to order in CH 446 at 8:00 AM.

1. Progress Report from Academic Affairs Working Group/FA Senate (Weisman)

a. The policy for student complaints about faculty is now before the Academic Affairs Committee of the Administration. After it is approved there, it will come before our committee. Suggestions made by faculty at last Academic Affairs meeting were passed along.

b. The policy on cheating is under review by the Academic Affairs Working Group and is approaching completion. We may see it before our committee this semester.

c. FA Senate approved a policy to allow professors to drop students not attending classes on the first day. This policy is going to Meet and Confer.

2. Grade Appeals

Two grade appeals at the Academic Affairs level have been assigned to be heard using FA Academic Affairs Committee members, rather than FAEC committee members. (FA Senate resolution)

A search for common meeting times will be communicated to Academic Affairs VP Mitch Rubenstein.

3. (External) Program Review Policy

Materials were distributed to all members. Revisions were accepted by consensus. Changes were made to page 10 in the overview of department and program. See revised version attached to next meeting announcement (SCSU PR Policies Draft 100217).

4. Next meeting: Wednesday, February 24 in CH 446.
