CHAIR’S REPORT Jim Sherohman reported the following: · He will be meeting with the Provost and Lisa Foss tomorrow to discuss the position of Assessment Director and how the reorganization of Academic Affairs will affect the position. · Next week is a meeting of the college assessment directors. We will discuss the assessment report forms for the 2010 academic year. Someone from the Teacher Preparedness Initiative in the College of Education will be speaking during the first twenty minutes of the meeting on April 21st. · An Assessment Peer Consultant retreat was held on March 26th. 22 people attended. The retreat format seems to be working well and will, hopefully, be continued next year. Two decisions came out of the meeting: o The group would like to offer training on conducting focus groups to interested assessment peer consultants. Those trained would be available to provide focus group services to departments and units as part of the Assessment Peer Consulting Program. o The group would like to create a menu of assessment workshops and make them available for departments and units. An interest survey of potential topics is planned. · The survey of Assessment Peer Consultants will close tomorrow. Dr. Sherohman will be sending out a summary of the results next week.
