Liberal Education Assessment Panels member selection criteria.

The General Education Committee will evaluate applications according the following criteria in order to form LEAPs of 3-5 members.  Eligible applicants not placed on a LEAP will be wait-listed.

Full-share IFO member?   Yes / No

More than one applicant per department/program for a given LEAP?   Yes / No
(There may be more than one representative per department, though preference will be to fill positions from as many departments as possible.)

Has applicant previously served on this LEAP? (Preference will be given to applicants who have not previously served on this LEAP).

2 pts) Taught once or twice and/or more than 3 years ago; OR plan to teach in future
3 pts) Have taught consistently and recently

Experience teaching general education courses in the capital Area.

Statement of interest
1 pt) Perfunctory; weak.
2 pts) Strong; solid rationale with at least one insight, etc.
3 pts) Very sincere statement with strong rationale and multiple insights.

Assessment experience
1 pt) No experience listed.
2 pts) Experience assessing own courses; may include limited experience assessing program.
3 pts) Multiple forms of assessment experience, including both course- and program-level; other experience, such as serving as Assessment Peer Consultant and/or college, department or program assessment coordinator; external program reviewer, etc.
