Julstrom called the meeting to order at 10:05am.
Cook moved, Jeannot seconded a motion to approve the agenda. Motion passed, vote 8-0-0.
Hoff moved, Bekkala seconded a motion to approve the minutes of September 24, 2009. Wording was changed on page 2 to reflect the fact that the Committee did approve the Gen Ed proposal. Motion passed, vote 8-0-0.
Hoff and Cook reported that UCC has passed the Gen Ed proposal. Proposals to change it may be submitted on the SC form but will probably not be considered until the current proposal is in place.
OLD BUSINESS
Bekkala moved, Petzold seconded a motion to remove from the table for approval the following proposals from MME:
· PC: Replace electives MME 402 and 403 with MME 404 and 405 in the BS in Mechanical Engineering
· RE: Drop MME 402/502 (Indoor Thermal Engineering)
· RE: Drop MME 403/503 (Design of Thermal Systems)
· NC: MME 404/504 (Introduction to Computational Fluid Dynamics)
· NC: MME 405/505 (Energy Systems Design and Analysis)
These proposals update the BS in Mechanical Engineering to conform to recent industry feedback. Motion passed, vote 8-0-0.
Bekkala moved, Petzold seconded a motion to remove from the table for approval these three proposals from MME:
· PC: Remove PESS 122 (1 credit) as a requirement for the MfgE BS.
· PC: Remove PESS 122 (1 credit) as a requirement for the ME BS.
· SC: Change admission requirements for MME majors and change bulletin description.
Motion passed, vote 8-0-0.
