Julstrom called the meeting to order at 10:01am.

 

Cook moved, Simones seconded a motion to approve the agenda. Motion passed, vote 8-0-0.

 

Cook moved, Ghosh seconded a motion to approve the minutes of October 8, 2009. Motion passed, vote 8-0-0.

 

From UCC, Cook and Simones reported that there will be a temporary mechanism for re-approving existing courses for GenEd. This mechanism will bypass the college curriculum committees.

NEW BUSINESS

Petzold moved, Jeannot seconded a motion to approve a Routine/Editorial change for BIOL 206: Introductory Microbiology. This change modifies the course description and prerequisites. A discussion of commas vs. repeated “or”s ensued; the commas won. Motion passed, vote 8-0-0.

Cook moved, Simones seconded a motion to approve the following package of proposals from ETS:

PC – Changes to Technology Management major

NC – ETS 450 Construction Documentation

RE – ETS 411 Architectural Drawing: Drop the course

NC – ETS 418 Architectural Design and Working Drawings

RE – ETS 185 Energy and Society: Change course description

PC – Modify BS in Technology Education

NC – ETS 310 Management for Technologists, Scientists, and Engineers

NC – ETS 153 Integrating Technology into STEM Curriculum

RE – ETS 134 Introduction to Construction and Green Building Systems: Change title and description

PC – Modify Environmental Studies major

The Committee edited several of the NC proposals and observed that ETS 310 needs learning outcomes and the learning outcomes of ETS 153 should be rewritten. Pending those changes, motion passed, vote 8-0-0.

Jeannot moved, Cook seconded a motion to approve a Routine/Editorial proposal for RAS 631: Clinical Design, Implementation, and Analysis. The proposal removes a mistakenly included prerequisite. Pending consultation with the proposal’s author to shorten the course description, motion passed, vote 8-0-0.
