Julstrom called the meeting to order at 10:07am.

Bekkala moved, Cook seconded a motion to approve the agenda. The last two sets of proposals were relabeled New Business, since they had arrived since the meeting of Dec. 3. Motion passed, vote 6-0-0.

Ghosh moved, Cook seconded a motion to approve the minutes of December 3, 2009. Motion passed, vote 6-0-0.

OLD BUSINESS

Bekkala moved, Petzold seconded a motion to approve a package of proposals from NURS that together establish a path to a BS in nursing for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN):

NP – BS for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN).

NC – NURS 300 Role Transition One: LPN to BSN

NC – NURS 316 Child and Family Nursing Clinical LPN to BSN

NC – NURS 317 Role Transition Two for LPN to BSN: Physiologic Wellness

NC – NURS 318 Issues of Aging and Mental Health LPN to BSN

NC – NURS 319 Aging and Mental Health, LPN to BSN Clinical

NC – NURS 369 Pharmacology for LPN to BSN

The NURS assessment plan will be mentioned on all the NC proposals. Motion passed, vote 7-0-0.

Petzold moved, Bekkala seconded a motion to approve a package of proposals from NURS that together establish a path to a BS for Registered Nurses (RN):

NP – BS for Registered Nurses (RN)

NC – NURS 400 Role transition to BSN

NC – NURS 410 Healthcare Policy, Finance, Informatics, and Regulatory Environments

NC – NURS 411 Care Coordination and Continuity

NC – NURS 412 Nursing Leadership and Management for RN to BSN

NC – NURS 416 Capstone to BSN Clinical Transition to Baccalaureate Nursing Practice

Again, all the NC proposals will mention the NURS assessment plan. Motion passed, vote 7-0-0.

Hoff moved, Cook seconded a motion to approve a Routine/Editorial proposal from CHEM to modify the prerequisites of CHEM 141 Introduction to Organic and Biological Chemistry. Motion passed, vote 7-0-0.

Hoff moved, Cook seconded a motion to approve three proposals from MME associated with the EM program:

NC – EM 680 Special Topics

NC – EM 681 Seminar

NC – EM 697 Independent Study

Pending more detailed learning outcomes and course outlines, motion passed, vote 7-0-0.

Petzold moved, Cook seconded a motion to approve a Routine/Editorial proposal from MME to modify the prerequisites and semester of MME 302 Heat Transfer. Motion passed, vote 7-0-0.

Hoff moved, Bekkala seconded a motion to approve a Special Curriculum proposal from MME to modify GenEd and program requirements in MME degrees. This proposal is identical to another, which has not yet arrived at this committee, for the ECE program. Petzold moved, Bekkala seconded a motion to table this proposal pending the arrival of its mate. Motion passed, vote 7-0-0.
