Opening Comments

Discussion:

ADM:  We had a productive meeting with the facilitator.  The description he gave us regarding group work was for each side to represent itself well – to know their goals.

FA:  It is our priority to ensure and look for movement of issues.  If an issue becomes fixed, we will remove the issue from Meet and Confer into Executive Committee.  If the issue is still fixed, we will bring it to Senate and then move it to Meet and Confer.

Process:

ADM:  Agreed to taking turns for chairing meeting.  The chair will call on whomever has their hand up, with the exception of the Provost and President.

IFO/MnSCU Collective Bargaining Agreement Negotiations

FA:  This proposal seeks to eliminate the steps incentive over the whole period of the contract.  What impact does this have on performance reputation?

ADM:  This would be very unfortunate.  Do not feel we can negotiate the contract here.  A contract with no salary increases would not be good.

FA:  I appreciate the administration’s comments.

ADM:  We need a conversation aside from Meet and Confer.

FA:  Where should we have this discussion?

ADM:  The administration needs to have this discussion.

FA:  A discussion regarding salary compression needs to take place.

ADM:  Has equity and salary been negotiated?

FA:  We will have a meeting on salary equity in two weeks.
